Hampstead Heath

Yesterday we woke up and planned our day. I had been wanting to go to the Borough Market and Eleanor wanted to go to Hampstead Heath and Keat's House, so we planned the day and headed out! We walked to Borough Market (2 miles). It is an incredibly large market and there are food booths, smoothies, and lots of sausage, cheese, and oils. We tried lots of olive oils and vinaigrettes, cheeses, sausages, chocolates, truffle patte, etc. It was a great snack and I ended up buying an assortment of chocolates. Every single piece has been so amazing! One piece was mint, and it did not taste like fake mint. It tasted like real mint! So delicious! The caramel ones have a salty caramel center which was amazing. There were these graham cracker like things covered in a delicious dark chocolate, and the truffles had an amazing chocolate. From there, we took the tube to Hampstead Heath and then walked to the park (1 mile). We walked a bit through the park (0.5 miles) and then to Keat's House (0.75 miles). John Keats (the poet) lived here and his house is now a nice museum. Eleanor is an English major so she chose to go here and I am glad we went. I learned a lot about him and read some of his poems.

Afterwards, we went back to the park and walked around for over an hour (3 miles). Then, we tried to find our way out. We did not know how to get out because there were not maps in the park, but we eventually got out. We ended up really far away and it was going to be a really long walk back to the tube station so we found a bus going in the right direction (although it only got within a mile of our flat). We got off, walked home (1 mile) and then crashed. We watched more Sherlock and relaxed because we were so tired (we walked more than 8 miles!). Overall, it was a great day and now I want to go back to the market when it is quieter and go to other markets!

Today, we are all doing homework and relaxing. I should probably try and go out to do something but we will see.
