Hysteria
Yesterday we went to the play Hysteria. It was at the Hampstead Theatre which is a fringe theatre (not west end). The play is about Sigmund Freud in 1938 when he was sick with cancer and in his 80's. It was set in the home that I visited a few weeks ago so it was cool to see the similarities and historical accuracy of the play. The play begins with a psychotic women coming to his door in the middle of the night. It is quickly revealed that she is actually healthy but wants to learn more about her mom, whom Freud treated. Later, Freud interacts with his doctor and with Salvador Dali (the artist). This may be my favorite play we have seen. It was quite dramatic but also really interesting and quick-paced. Today, I only had art class so I was able to sleep in, find some free museums to go to this weekend, and do some homework. Tomorrow we are going to Midsummer's Night Dream at Shakespeare's Globe. We are groundlings so we have to stand the entire time and we will be exposed to the open air so I really hope it does not rain! We are not allowed umbrellas either. Should be interesting!
