An Eleven Mile Hike

This morning our professor led an eleven mile hike. We took a train to Tring, a town 30 miles northwest of London. Professor Vinter had four maps and so four students took the maps and led the way. We were following a route from TimeOut! and it worked out pretty well. We set off at 10 am when it was chilly. I only had tennis shoes here so my feet got soaked and immersed in mud pretty quickly. The hike was not horribly difficult although it was very slippery and muddy. I did not wipe out; however, I felt that I would many times. We walked up some hills and eventually got to a really scenic area. It was foggy but we could still see a decent way. Everything was red, orange, yellow and a bit of green so it was the perfect fall scenery.

We also walked through fields of cows and sheep, and we saw ducks and geese. One of the cows was standing in the path and our professor warned us to not provoke it as they are known to attack. Luckily, the cow was too lazy and did not attack. At 1:30 we stopped and got lunch at a pub. It took forever to get our food but we eventually got food. After lunch we had a 2 hour walk back to the train station and then came back to London. I made stromboli but learned that other people were going to Real Man Pizza Co. for dinner and I joined in so the stromboli will be for lunch this week! I got a pizza with buffalo mozzarella and it was so delicious! They have a student discount so my pizza was only 3 pounds (it is normally 11!).
My delicious pizza!
